Cal State L.A.'’s Ronald Johnson Named Second-Team
NABC/Pontiac All-American

All-America team selected by
the nation’s basketball coaches

LOS ANGELES --Cal State L.A. men's basketball junior forward Ronald Johnson (South Gate, CA/South Gate) has been named a second-team NABC/Pontiac All-American, as announced this afternoon by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) in conjunction with the start of this year’s Elite Eight in Evansville, Ind.

This is the first All-America honor for Johnson and the second time in three years a Cal State L.A. men’s basketball player has earned a spot on the All-America team. Former Golden Eagle Quincy Stinson was a third-team honoree following the 1999-2000 season.

Johnson led the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) this season in scoring with 21.0 points per game and ranked sixth in the CCAA in both field goal (.480) and free throw (.768) percentage. Johnson will enter his senior season tied for second on the school's all-time scoring chart with 1,432 points. He needs just 210 points to break Tommie Lipsey's school record of 1,641 career points.
