| Cal State L.A. Sends LOS ANGELES -- Six Cal State L.A. men's and women's track and field athletes have been selected for the 2003 NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships, scheduled for May 22-24 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Lynnae Samuels, the CCAA Champion in the 100 meter hurdle and 400 meter hurdle events, looks to add NCAA crowns as she leads the Golden Eagles with entries in both of these events. Three other Golden Eagles look to add NCAA titles to their CCAA Championships as Maegan Bergeson, Leslie Ford and Terry Jenkins compete in the women's javelin, men's 400 meter dash and men's 400 meter hurdles, respectively. Maegan Bergeson (Senior, Oceanside, CA/Rancho Buena Vista HS) Leslie Ford (Junior, Fort Worth, TX/Fort Worth Dunbar HS/Long Beach CC) Terry Jenkins (Senior, Altadena, CA/John Muir HS/Michigan State) Garland Randall (Junior, Los Angeles, CA/Compton HS/Long Beach CC) Lynnae Samuels (Sophomore, La Cañada, CA/John Muir HS/Cal Poly SLO) Laura Tave (Junior, Rosemead, CA/Rosemead HS/Citrus College) Among current Division II schools, Cal State L.A. ranks third in combined NCAA titles. The men's program has won 26 individual national championships while the women's program has garnered 43 national championships. At the CCAA Championships, six Golden Eagles came away with a total of seven conference titles, the most since 1998 when Cal State L.A. took home 12 championships.
