The speakers will present information on how colleges from throughout the nation have created learning communities, and how this can be effected at Cal State L.A.

Speakers:
Jean MacGregor is an adjunct faculty member at Evergreen State College and for the past 11 years she has been associated with The Washington Center for Improving the Quality for Undergraduate Education. She is co-author of Learning Communities: Creating Connections Among Students, Faculty and Disciplines and the editor of Student Self-Evaluation: Fostering Reflective Learning.

Daniel P. Tompkins is associate professor and chair in the department of Greek, Hebrew and Roman Classics at Temple University. His interest in learning communities solidified in 1993, when a major grant he helped write was funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts.
