Cal State L.A. Development Director Recognized
as New Fund Raiser of the Year

Los Angeles, CA - Long Beach resident Robin Moler, director of development for University projects at California State University, Los Angeles, was recently named New Fund Raiser of the Year by the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE/GLAC). The award was presented to Moler at the NSFRE annual conference held at The Pasadena Center.

In its conference program brochure, the NSFRE/GLAC wrote of Moler: "It is clear that she is driven and cares deeply about social issues. Moler represents the next wave of fund raising professionals and will likely be the source of many innovations throughout her career."

Moler began her career with Netzel Associates and collaborated on more than 20 capital campaigns after graduating from Cal State Long Beach in 1997. At STOP-GAP, her persuasive writing skills helped the organization win several prestigious awards, including the Disneyland Community Service Award. In December 1999, she began her position at Cal State L.A. where she has strengthened the University's scholarship fund raising and stewardship program, as well as created planned giving marketing materials. She recently secured a 5-figure gift.

All the while, she has been actively involved with NSFRE/GLAC. In 1998, she served as interim chair of the New Professional Development Committee, organizing social and professional activities among other duties. In subsequent years, she has volunteered at National Philanthropy Day and led a grant writing seminar. In addition, she has volunteered for several organizations in the community including AIDS Projects Los Angeles and The Animals' Agenda.

"Robin, unlike many in the fund raising profession, trained for her career by designing her own major in college. She represents the next wave of fund raising professionals and she has already made tremendous contributions to advancing California State University, Los Angeles," said Kyle Button, vice president for Institutional Advancement at Cal State L.A.

The National Society of Fund Raising Executive is the professional association for individuals responsible for generating philanthropic support for a wide variety of not-for-profit, charitable organizations. Founded in 1960, NSFRE advances philanthropy through its more than 20,000 members in 154 chapters throughout North America.
