Beta Alpha Psi Regional
Accounting Conference and Dinner
to be Held at Cal State L.A.

What & Who:
The School of Business and Economics and the Department of Accounting at California State University, Los Angeles will present the Southern California/Arizona Beta Alpha Psi Regional Accounting Conference at Cal State L.A. and Dinner at Pasadena's Holiday Inn, featuring keynote speaker Thomas O. Staggs, Chief Financial Officer of the Walt Disney Company.

When:
Saturday, January 23, 1999.
Conference: Cal State L.A. University-Student Union: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.;
Dinner: Holiday Inn, Pasadena: 7- 9 p.m.

Where:
Cal State L.A. is located at the Eastern Ave. exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Fwy., at the interchange of the 10 and 710 Fwys. Public (permit dispenser) parking is available in the Lots C and G, or the upper level of north Parking Structure II.

The Pasadena's Holiday Inn is located at 303 East Cordova Street in Pasadena. For directions, call (626) 449-4000.

Beta Alpha Psi is the national student accounting honorary whose members consist of the most promising accounting students throughout the country. Its members will be the future leaders in the accounting and financial professions. Top university students from Arizona and Southern California will be represented at this event, as well as accounting faculty and representatives from the business sector. Students from Cal State L.A., Cal Poly Pomona, CSU Northridge, CSU Fullerton, San Diego State University and Northern Arizona University will participate in three debates on current accounting topics during the day; awards will be presented at the dinner.

Speaker:
Thomas Staggs, Chief Financial Officer of the Walt Disney Company, is the keynote speaker at the dinner. Staggs joined Disney in 1990, and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development in 1995. He then became the Chief Financial Officer in May 1998 playing a key role in various corporate transactions including Capitol Cities-ABC. He also played a major role in Disney's Internet development strategy.
