Student representatives:
Michael Chiem, who was admitted to Cal State L.A. as a first-time freshman in fall of 2010, is a business administration major with an interest in marketing management. He is currently completing the university’s new social media marketing certificate. Michael also serves as director of public relations/historian of the CSULA Marketing Club. Prior to interning in the Office of Public Affairs, Michael worked as a student assistant in the Admissions and Recruitment Office to help outreach to prospective students and welcome them into the campus community. Through Public Affairs’ Here 4 You campaign, Michael can now help his peers become more aware of and involved with the resources and services Cal State L.A. has to offer. With his creativity and marketing skills, Michael wishes to create visually interesting content to encourage student participation and engagement.
Diana Miranda is an English major at Cal State L.A. Prior to Cal State L.A., Diana was a part of the Mt. San Antonio College Forensics team and won numerous awards in speech competitions. Diana also holds an associate degree in communications. She has always been passionate about communications and enjoys developing entertaining and fun content in all of her projects. With an interest in theater, acting, and comedic improvisation, Diana finds that the best way to help students is to think outside the box and make learning visual, fun and exciting. As an intern for the Office of Public Affairs, she hopes to incorporate the “FUN” factor in the Here 4 You campaign, while helping students discover the amazing hidden gems and comprehensive academic services the Cal State L.A. campus has to offer.
