Jungsoo Lim

Lab Director

Jungsoo Lim's Photo Jung Soo Lim (she/her/hers) graduated from Cal State LA with her Bachelor of Science. She received a Master of Science and Ph. D in computer science, emphasizing computer networking, in 2003 and 2012 from UCLA. She began working as a lecturer for the Cal State LA Department of Computer Science in the fall of 2016 and became an assistant professor in the fall of 2020. Her expertise is in the Internet of Things, wireless sensor networking, wired and wireless computer networking, analysis of algorithms, and software engineering. In her role, she teaches various courses, including computer organization and architecture, introduction to programming, software engineering, and analysis of algorithms. Also, she develops online courses and supervises various senior design capstone projects. She enjoys reading, walking, and coding.

Manveen Kaur

Lab Director

Manveen Kaur Image Manveen Kaur (she/her/hers) received a Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University, followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Clemson University. Her broad research interest is in Software and Systems Engineering for emergent Internet-of-Things (IoT) systems with current research focusing on swarms of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or drone swarm systems. In her current work, Manveen is designing, implementing, and testing an evolving communication framework that drone swarms can use to support a variety of data-intensive and performance-sensitive applications. She is especially interested in integrating machine learning into the communication framework for these IoT systems for 'intelligent' communication and operations.
