This year's celebration embraces the theme A Sky Full of Stars: Every Star. Every Story. One Brilliant Community. Together, we will recognize the extraordinary faculty, staff, administrators, and student employees whose dedication, talent, and service illuminate the path for our students and strengthen the Cal State LA community. Every contribution, every achievement, and every story adds to the brilliance of our University.
Among the many highlights of this year's celebration is the inclusion of the Outstanding Professor Award, Outstanding Lecturer Award, and President's Distinguished Professor Award. These prestigious faculty honors recognize exceptional achievement in teaching, scholarship, mentorship, and service, and celebrate educators whose work has made a lasting impact on our students, their disciplines, and the University. Through inspiring video profiles, we will share the stories behind these distinguished faculty members and recognize the excellence they bring to Cal State LA.
The celebration will also introduce the inaugural Rookie of the Year Award, honoring a new employee or team whose dedication, innovation, leadership, and early contributions have already made a meaningful impact on the University during the 2025-2026 fiscal year. In addition, we will proudly recognize faculty, staff, and administrators celebrating significant service milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years, honoring their enduring commitment and lasting contributions to Cal State LA.
While we proudly celebrate this year's award recipients and service honorees, this event belongs to our entire campus community. Every faculty member, staff member, administrator, and student employee plays an important role in shaping the experiences of our students and advancing the mission of the University.
