Two-time Grammy-winning icon Taj Mahal's music embraces the raw energy and gumption of early jazz, the grooves of rhythm and blues, the church-derived cadences of soul music, and the rhythms of West Africa — via New Orleans and the Caribbean. Joining him will be Sona Jobarteh, virtuosa of griot kora - a West African tradition of poetry and music. A remarkably unique singer and composer, she blends griot sounds with blues and pop to create a style that is uniquely her own.
