LA For All Student Art Showcase

Location

Description

In fall 2021, 38 undergraduate students from Professor Zachary Vernon’s Concept Development course at Cal State LA embarked on a new project in partnership with the City of Los Angeles. Through the LA For All Student Art Project, the Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department (LA Civil Rights) asked students to build on the LA For All Campaign, an anti-hate PSA campaign by LA Civil Rights that pairs art and inclusive messaging with resources for reporting hate.

The students were tasked with developing their own version of the LA For All campaign that reflects the diversity, solidarity and inclusive spirit of Los Angeles. The result was 38 original design pieces that not only depicted the creativity of Los Angeles, but also the diverse perspectives and boundless talent of Cal State LA students.

LA Civil Rights, LA City Human Relations Commission, and Cal State LA Library are honored to invite you to the LA For All Student Art Showcase at the Cal State LA University Library on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 6:00 PM. This showcase will display all 38 works created for the LA for All Student Art Project, and feature the student artists from Cal State LA as well as leaders from the City of Los Angeles.
