Dates and Deadlines

Use Appointment Dates to complete the "Effective Employment Dates" in the Employment Transaction Form (ETF). Please keep in mind that the effective dates are a request and will be modified to reflect the start date on the student employee's authorization to work letter.

* Student assistants enrolled half-time or less can work more than 20 hours without requiring an ETF or memo. (Default to FICA exemption.)
** Student assistants enrolled half-time or more CANNOT work over 20 hours without an ETF or memo. Classification is based on the enrollment status during these periods. We count enrollment units across all intersessions. For example, if a student assistant enrolls in the May intersession and the first 5-week intersession, we combine the units to determine FICA exemption. (Default to non-FICA exemption.)
