Please accept the following brief statement as part of my interest in serving as a Staff Senator. My qualifications include an associate in arts in liberal arts, with an emphasis in political science, a bachelor in arts, in liberal arts, and a master of arts in humanities, with a concentration in history all awarded from Mount St. Mary’s College. I have over 12 years of progressive experience within administrative student support services and operations. As a Staff senator, I will be able to raise awareness of interests and concerns that affect staff members, take part in improving and or changing policy and procedures, serve as a liaison between University, staff, students, and faculty, and fulfilling the mission of the University of giving back to community.
I believe my combination of work experience, education and training have provided me the relevant knowledge, skills and abilities needed for the Staff senator position. I possess excellent leadership and communication skills. I have strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships
I consider this an opportunity that I believe would be a great compliment toward my success in academic, personal/social, and career development.
