How to Apply
The first step in applying to the MSW program is to apply to Cal State LA via the Cal State Apply
Website. For questions regarding your application please contact the
application hotline at 857-304-2087. Please note the hotline is on Eastern Standard Time.
The MSW application is included in the university online application in Quadrant 4 (Q4).
You complete only one application to apply to both the university and the MSW program. In Q4 you
will be able to upload your personal statement, resume and unofficial transcripts from all schools
attended. When you provide the name and email address for the three individuals writing your
references they will be sent an email with the reference form to complete and submit.
Be sure you are applying for the correct start term and the right campus location. The start term
for the Advanced Standing 11-month program (ASP) is Summer semester at the Downtown (DTLA) campus
and Fall semester for the 2 Year and 3 Year programs at the main campus. Please note we admit
students only once per year for each of the programs. Once you have submitted the application and
paid the application fee of
$70.00 you will be issued a Campus Identification Number (CIN).
You will need the 9-digit CIN # in order to check your application progress on the
Golden Eagle Territory (GET) portal.
