Dr. Shilpa Balan, Assistant Professor in Information Systems and Dr. Marco del Angel, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and Statistics, have been named to the College of Natural and Social Sciences (NSS) Big Data Research team as a Faculty Community Scholar (FCS) for Spring 2020. Scholars will work together and with community partners including the City of Los Angeles to develop big data literacy. The project will include collaboration with other scholars, students, and community partners to complete course redesign, big data student projects, and student mentoring. April 20, 2020 a Public Forum Day will be held to showcase student work.
