Earlier this week, the College of Business and Economics (CBE) held its first Professor for a Day event for the Spring 2020 semester held in the Golden Eagle Ballroom 3. We were pleased to introduce CBE alum, Richard Cordova, to over 70 business students and faculty.
President of The Cordova Group LLC, Richard Cordova, not only serves on the Board of Directors for Government Employees Health Association, but he is also President Emeritus of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Richard previously served as the former President of the Southern California Region of Kaiser Permanente.
Co-Chair of We Are LA: The Campaign for Cal State LA, the university’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign, Richard wanted to give back to his alma mater by sharing his journey and wisdom to up and coming business students. They listened attentively as Richard not only delved into his journey but his top ten takeaways, which included: reinvent yourself, paint your picture, and lead from your heart. After his talk, a question-and-answer session followed, and a reception was held immediately after, where students, faculty, and staff were able to chat with our special guest further.
The Professor for a Day speaker series brings successful alumni, business leaders, and CBE students together, providing students the opportunity to interact with professionals and learn how they succeeded in business. Stay tuned for details on the series’ next event in April.
