Cal State L.A. to open summer 2012 to continuing students; new graduate student admission applications will be accepted for some graduate programs in the Charter College of Education

Students encouraged to take advantage of current CSU tuition rates

Los Angeles, CA — Encouraging students to Get on Track this Summer and complete a course or two at 2011/12 CSU tuition rates, Cal State L.A. will offer graduate and undergraduate courses to continuing students moving toward their degrees.

Admission applications will be accepted only from those new graduate students looking to enroll in select credential and certificate programs in the Charter College of Education.

We encourage our eligible continuing students to review course offerings and register on their assigned appointment date for the summer term because they will fill up quick, said Joan Woosley, CSULA Registrar Office. Summer is always a great time to take a course. There are less people on campus, which means better parking and shorter lines, and the longer days enable many working students to get to campus before dark.

The schedule of classes for the summer 2012 term is available at /classschedule/. The entire online Schedule of Classes will be available April 16.

Besides the April 30 graduate admission application deadline, two other critical deadlines to meet are payment of the Application Fee ($55, non-refundable), and submission of official transcript(s), both due May 15, 2012. Missing any deadlines and/or enrollment criteria may prevent eligible students from attending CSULA this summer.

This summer, reading courses will be offered for Master of Arts in Education students. For those already in a credential program, multiple and single subject courses, education specialist, as well as reading and language arts specialist sessions are available. Certificate programs students may enroll in autism, applied behavior analysis, and reading courses.

Financial aid is available for CSULA’s state-supported summer term for students who qualify. To learn more visit /univ/finaid/other_topics.php.

For graduate students, in addition to submitting the CSU Mentor Graduate Admission Application, many programs require a separate departmental application. For more information, please visit the
