RETRO REVISITED:
Cal State L.A. Holds
Student Designers Fashion Show
in Historic Downtown Venue

Los Angeles, CA -- The 12th annual Cal State L.A. student-designed fashion show makes its stylish appearance this year as “Retro Revisited” on Thursday, May 22, at the historic New Mart Building, 127 E. Ninth Street in downtown Los Angeles. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.

The evening will showcase design collections influenced by 20th century fashions—the work of 15 accomplished student designers from the CSULA Art department’s Fashion and Textiles program studying in areas of fashion design, fashion merchandising or textiles. Students who have completed this B.A. program are employed in the apparel and textiles industry as assistant designers, retail managers, and sales representatives.

The Cal State L.A. fashion show was initiated in 1991, and is design and directed by the Fashion and Textiles option students with the assistance of Art faculty members Rebecca Davis (Lomita resident) and Carol Tuntland (Huntington Beach resident).

DJ music and refreshments will be provided. The evening is sponsored by the Cal State L.A. Fashion Industry Group. Tickets are $5 at the door. For tickets or more details, call (323) 343-4033 or (323) 343-4030.
