The Office of the Dean of Students assessed the Academic Supply and Textbook Support Program.
433 students took advantage of the program.
The program provided up to $250 for enrolled students in the spring to purchase textbooks and academic supplies at the campus bookstore. This financial assistance alleviated some of the financial stress of attending university and added to mental and emotional wellness by removing financial barriers to academic success.
At the time this data was run, June 1, 2023, the majority of students who participated in this program are persisting in their education:
- 258 of 433 students (60%) enrolled for fall 2023
- 92 of 433 students (21%) are graduating prior to fall 2023 and do not need to register for additional classes
- 83 of 433 students (19%) are not currently registered for fall 2023, though they still may enroll for fall during summer term
The program is slated to continue in fall 2023. However, due to budget constraints, the total funding available per semester will be $25,000.
