Career Center Yard Party: This event helps students transition into college by introducing campus resources and fostering a sense of pride and belonging through connections with Cal State LA’s career community.

106 students participated in this event.

The Yard Party helped students transition into college by raising awareness of available resources and fostering pride and belonging within the University community. It connects students with the career community at Cal State LA, aligning with the university's commitment to community engagement and student success.

1. Students will find resources that the Career Center provides.
2. Students will meet the Career Center team and join the career community at Cal State LA.

Students checked in to the event, where they received handouts about our services along with drinks and snacks. We measured attendance to identify how many students received our materials. The event's outdoor location in front of the Career Center boosted engagement, inviting passersby to join. Snacks and shady areas for yard games helped students cool off and socialize between classes. The location also encouraged students to visit the center, take welcome-back photos in the photo booth, and share them on social media.

Send a follow-up survey to assess participants' increase in connectedness with the campus career community and knowledge of our services and elicit their recommendations for the program.
