LA BioStart

The Cal State LA BioStart Bioscience Entrepreneurs Boot Camp is a five-week, intensive training program that prepares emerging bioscience entrepreneurs to launch their own bioscience ventures. The boot camp is a collaborative project of Cal State LA, the Biocom Institute and the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator.  With investment from the U.S. Economic Development Administration, the training is offered at no charge to eligible participants.

Boot Camp

The boot camp addresses the challenges most common to scientists and new entrepreneurs seeking to turn their scientific discoveries into successful companies. Seasoned business professionals will also benefit from lessons in bioscience-specific topics, such as FDA-regulated development, manufacturing and quality control processes. All of these topics will be covered by one of the three suites.

LA BioStart Boot Camp Cohort 7

We are proud to offer cohort 6 of the LA BioStart boot camp, which is a comprehensive 5-week mentoring/training program for biotech founders, entrepreneurs, and emerging entrepreneurs. The boot camp cohort 7 will run from July 10 to August 8, 2024.

The mentoring and training program includes three suites:

Bioscience Business

Our regional partners and we will welcome boot camp participants to Cal State LA and ten other satellite sites this summer:

We encourage all founders, entrepreneurs, innovators, scientists, faculty, and postdocs in the broadest definitions of biotechnology and life sciences fields to apply. These include startups or projects in pharmaceuticals, biologics, cell and gene therapies, pre-clinical study services, diagnostics, medical devices, health IT, food tech, biocatalyst discovery, cleantech, biofuels, waste-treatment technologies, and agri-tech. A business entity is not required, though startup founders and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply.
