Opportunity

VPR turns a hilltop campus above Downtown Los Angeles into a working stage for galas and conferences, film and photo shoots, sponsor activations, and long-term partnerships built on university assets.

The organizing idea

Venues. Productions.
Real Estate.

Venue rentals remain the foundation, but the work has grown well past reservations, into event production, film interest, sponsorships, and long-term partnerships. One activation platform, three functions:

Venues provide the space.

Athletics facilities, performance spaces, classrooms, and outdoor areas, booked by faculty & staff, student organizations, and external groups alike.

Productions bring it to life.

Event production, film & media location support, sponsor activations, and community programming; the Car Show is the proof, not the exception.

Real estate builds long-term value.

Strategic partnerships and revenue opportunities on university assets, from a single afternoon booking to an ongoing relationship.

Evidence, not aspiration

Proof of concept

What one afternoon on Lot 5 proved

The first annual Cal State LA Car Show & Community Festival (April 25, 2026 · Lot 5 · 10am–5pm) turned a parking lot into a full production: cars, bikes, live music, food vendors, a comedy set, and a Lakers-legend book signing, all under the new VPR banner.

Good to know

Booking, permits & production basics

A quick overview of how the process generally works; your VPR contact will confirm the specifics for your booking.

Who can book a VPR space? +

Faculty and staff, registered student organizations, and external groups can all request space. The process and requirements differ slightly depending on which of those you are.

Do I need a permit for amplified sound? +

Yes, events with music, PA systems, or other amplified sound require a permit as part of the standard booking process.

What if my event involves filming? +

Commercial filming has its own fee structure and requirements. Reach out early so the team can scope the shoot alongside site access and any prep the location needs.

Is insurance required? +

External groups are generally expected to carry event insurance. Your VPR contact will confirm exactly what's needed for your specific booking.

Can VPR help produce the event, not just rent the space? +

Increasingly, yes. From the Car Show to sponsor activations, VPR is building out event production and partnership support alongside traditional venue rental.

How far in advance should I reach out? +

As early as possible, especially for large-format activations on Lot 5, or anything involving outside vendors, filming, or sponsors.
