About this Space

In the spring of 2020, Reeder Field underwent significant upgrades, including the installation of state-of-the-art infield turf and a brand-new baseball scoreboard positioned just beyond the left-field fence. The scoreboard is located behind the indoor batting cages, which were constructed in 2015. Reeder Field boasts several unique features that set it apart from other collegiate ballparks. Most notably, the left-field line measures a short 310 feet before quickly expanding to 350 feet, reminiscent of the iconic “Pesky Pole” configuration in right field at Fenway Park in Boston.

Turf Protection Deposit – Extended Field Rentals

Rentals exceeding seven (7) consecutive days require a $15,000 refundable turf protection deposit. This deposit is required due to the increased impact associated with extended field use and helps ensure that the fields are restored to intercollegiate competition standards following the event.

The deposit may be applied to costs associated with:

  • Abnormal turf damage

  • Soil compaction recovery

  • Sod replacement

  • Heavy wear in high-impact areas (including scrum zones)

  • Accelerated overseeding and turf rehabilitation

Any unused portion of the deposit will be returned upon completion of post-event field assessment.
