California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) and the Mojave Air & Space Port host the annual C-UASC at the Mojave Air & Space Port at Rutan Field.
The Summer Making, Academic prep, and Research for Transfer students (SMART) is an exciting, hands-on internship program sponsored by Growth Sector's STEM Core program and hosted by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Cal State LA.
The 2026 LAunchPad Summer Program will consist of two separate one-week sessions.
Session ONE: 9th and 10th Grade Students
June 15-19, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Session TWO: 11th and 12th Grade Students
June 22-26, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The LAunchPad Summer Program introduces high school students to engineering through applied projects, presentations by industry professionals, and direct engagement with ECST faculty.

The Summer Transition to ECST Program (STEP) is a mandatory program for eligible incoming freshmen in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology, majoring in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, and Engineering Technology.
STEP 2026 JULY 6 - AUGUST 7
Students will participate in a five-week in-person program at the Cal State LA campus.
