Caring, Caregivers, and COVID: Becoming Stronger

Description

The purpose of the symposium, which is presented by the Chin Family Institute for Nursing at Cal State LA, is to provide mitigation tools to address the trauma and suffering of health care providers created by the COVID-19 pandemic. During the symposium, participants will examine how psychological trauma impacts how we cope with stressors and apply trauma-informed strategies to assist us in mitigating the stressor.

Keynote speaker Karen J. Foli, associate professor at the Purdue University School of Nursing, will discuss how to understand the psychological traumas of nursing. The presentation will be prerecorded, with a live Zoom Q&A session with Foli.
