Student employees may request up to five days of bereavement leave. Bereavement leave may be requested within three months of the date of the eligible family member's death. Student Assistants may receive up to five days of unpaid bereavement leave and must be employed at least 30 days before the leave. Instructional Student Assistants may receive up to two days paid bereavement leave and up to three additional days of unpaid bereavement leave. If the funeral is at least 500 miles away, an additional day of paid bereavement leave is available upon request.
