The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) training is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. It is a comprehensive course, which begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance, as well as the basics of hands-on defense training. R.A.D. is not a martial arts program. The courses are taught by nationally certified R.A.D. instructors and provide each student with a workbook/reference manual. The course includes lectures, discussions, and self-defense techniques, suitable for women of all ages and abilities. The basic physical defense program consists of four sessions lasting three hours each, for a total of 12 hours of instruction including a dynamic simulation. Please note that girls under the age of 13 may not participate due to adult-themed subject matter.
Dates: September 25 and 27, and October 2 and 4 (6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
