Teaching Associate

Minimum Qualifications:
Degree-seeking graduate student in the Department of Mathematics. Teaching Associates must be currently enrolled in or admitted to a CSULA graduate degree program. The successful applicant will work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural, and inclusive settings.
Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Familiarity with the Cal State LA campus and resources (e.g., advising, tutoring, etc.) for students.
2) Evidence of good oral and written communication skills
3) Evidence of potential to work with a first-generation student population.
Hiring Criteria:
Appointments are made based on evidence of, or potential for, academic achievement and success as a Teaching Associate.
Duties:
Under supervision of faculty, successful candidates will teach lower division lecture and/or workshop sections of MATH courses. They may be required to attend regular meetings with the course coordinator for that course.
Salary:
Current Teaching Associate- Academic Year range: $2,943- $6,891
