Position:
Graduate Assistant for Geographical Information System Lab, Department of Geosciences and Environment
Starting Date:
On-going. Position will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree-seeking graduate student in the Department of Geosciences and Environment to perform computer lab assistance. Graduate Assistants must be registered in a CSU graduate degree program and must be enrolled in courses towards the completion of that graduate degree during the appointment period. Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor degree in Geography or related fields, good hands-on computer and GIS skills and knowledgeable on ArcGIS and ENVI software packages.
Hiring Criteria:
Appointments as a Graduate Assistant are made based on evidence of academic achievement, potential for academic success and expressed interest in, and availability for, performing the described duties of a Graduate Assistant.
Duties:
Under the general supervision of the faculty member, the Graduate Assistant will provide assistance to student during the in-class GIS exercise, maintain lab hours and answer students’ questions.
