Graduate Assistant for the School of Nursing Clinical Placement Office

Starting Date:

On-going. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree-seeking graduate student in a related discipline to Nursing to provide support to the School of Nursing Clinical Placement Office.  Graduate Assistants must be registered in a CSU graduate degree program and must be enrolled in courses towards the completion of that graduate degree during the appointment period.  Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment and demonstrate the ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.

Exceptions to the minimum eligibility qualifications may be granted at the sole discretion of the University.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with the University and Microsoft office applications.

Hiring Criteria:

Baccalaureate degree in a related field.  Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to interact with all levels of staff, students and faculty.  Ability to use Microsoft office applications. Ability to handle qualitative and quantitative data.  Available to work an average of 20 hours per week.

Duties:

Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting the nursing placement office staff with various professional and technical duties.  The Graduate Assistant will provide support to organizing and cataloging the placement databases, photocopying etc. On occasions the Graduate Assistant will assist with programmatic support such as the applicant admission process and screening student profiles for placement.  This will involve the evaluation of student’s prior work.  Will be responsible for accurately tracking and responding to inquiries of appropriate clinical placement requests.  Will be interacting with university faculty and staff at all levels.

Salary:

Current Graduate Assistant rate for an average of 20 hours per week.
