Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must be a matriculated student in the M.S. program in Criminalistics.

Graduate Assistants must be registered in a CSU graduate degree program and must be enrolled in courses towards the completion of that graduate degree during the appointment period.  Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to join faculty, staff, students, and administrators in our University’s shared commitment to the principles of engagement, service, and the public good.

Duties:

Under the direction of the faculty in the Criminalistics program, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining inventories of chemical and micro-analytical supplies; selecting required materials, supplies, and equipment from storage; transporting materials to the work areas and returning them to storage after use. Performs any cleaning or minor maintenance tasks as necessary; sets up equipment for use in the classroom or laboratory; dispenses and portions supplies and materials; arranges displays; makes labels or prepares identification of materials, supplies, and equipment; checks and arranges learning areas used by students.  Keeps records of issue and use of materials, supplies, and equipment; prepares schedules or lists; assists in the maintenance and operation of instrumental equipment, including infra-red and UV spectrometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary:

Current Graduate Assistant rate for an average of 20 hours per week.
