Plan ahead, allow extra time to arrive at Cal State LA during Commencement

June 2, 2016

Make sure to plan ahead and allow plenty of time to arrive and park at Cal State LA during the 69th Commencement ceremonies.

Expect heavy traffic on Thursday, June 9, near the 10 and 710 freeways when about 20,000 graduates and their guests arrive for the first of three days of Commencement celebrations. The event will take place at 3 p.m.  Traffic congestion is likely near the Eastern Avenue exit off the 10 freeway in both directions. There may also be a backup at the Ramona Boulevard and Valley Boulevard exits off of the 710 freeway.

Cal State LA will hold other Commencement ceremonies on Friday, June 10, at 8 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday, June 11, at 8 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Traffic is likely to be heavy beginning about one hour before each ceremony.
