Cal State LA received three silver awards from District VII of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), highlighting the university’s excellence in graphic design and social media.
The awards were presented during a reception on Feb. 21 at the Connect West 2019, the CASE District VII Conference, in Anaheim, CA.
“We received 603 submissions this year, and your excellent work stood out among the best,” said the awards co-chairs in a congratulatory letter. ”One of our objectives is to share best practices among our colleagues, and your efforts will be recognized as an example for others to emulate.”
Cal State LA received two CASE Silver Awards of Excellence in the social media category for its digital communication campaigns promoting the university’s Mind Matters and I Serve LA initiatives.
The Mind Matters initiative provides resources and programs to help students navigate the demands of academic excellence, family responsibilities, and jobs. I Serve LA is a university-wide service-learning initiative that provides thousands of volunteers who serve with community-based organizations across Los Angeles.
“These initiatives reflect key values of our University community,” said Cal State LA President William A. Covino. “I’m pleased to see CASE honoring our work to promote the importance of well-being and service.”
Cal State LA received a CASE Silver Award of Excellence in the invitations category for the design of its 2018 Alumni Awards Gala Invitation. The gala honors and celebrates the notable accomplishments of distinguished alumni annually.
“Our talented communications team plays a central role in helping us reach our students and alumni on the platforms they frequent,” said Cal State LA Executive Vice President Jose A. Gomez.
CASE District VII represents professionals and institutions in the western region of the United States (Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Northern Mariana Islands, and Utah). The District VII annual awards program showcases best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, public relations, advancement services, special events, communications, and more.
