 | CAL STATE L.A.'S 20TH ANNUAL Los Angeles, CA -- Miguel Contreras, executive secretary/treasurer, Los Angeles County Federation of Labor; The Honorable Jackie Goldberg, member, California State Assembly (D-45); Frank J. Quevedo, vice president, Equal Opportunity, Southern California Edison; and The Honorable John Burton, president pro tem, California State Senate (D-03), will be honored at the 20th Annual Awards Dinner of the Pat Brown Institute of Public Affairs on Thursday, April 26, at the Regal Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Sylvia Samano, executive director, External Affairs, Pacific Bell, serving as dinner chair, said, "We are proud to partner with the Pat Brown Institute in recognizing the extraordinary records these individuals have accomplished and continue to accomplish." At this year's dinner, Miguel Contreras and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor will be presented with a Distinguished Community Partnership Award, Jackie Goldberg will receive the Distinguished Public Service Award, Frank Quevedo will receive the Exemplary Community Service Award, and John Burton will receive the Pat Brown Legacy Award. Said Dr. Jaime Regalado, executive director of the Pat Brown Institute, "It is our honor to recognize these heroes of the community, the state and, indeed, the nation. Their histories of excellence are truly inspiring." Echoing this sentiment, Cal State L.A. President James M. Rosser added, "Cal State L.A. is proud to take a leading role in recognizing the extraordinary achievements of these uniquely important and courageous individuals."
