JOHN LION NEW WORKS FESTIVAL 2000

Workshop Productions by
Cal State L.A. Theatre Arts and
Dance Playwriting Students

What & Who:
The Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at California State University, Los Angeles presents The John Lion New Works Festival 2000, featuring new student workshop productions. The performance includes four short, one-act scripts by Cal State L.A. theatre arts and dance playwriting students.

Both Sides Now by David Fallon-Ron is a poet who hates women. Isabel is a performance artist who hates men. This unlikely pair meets up, and strange things start to happen.
Dahil Sa Iyo (Because of You) by Lorely Trinidad and music by Javier Arjona-This beautiful musical follows a young Philipina woman as she recalls her warm visits with aunt and the dark past she must face.
A Sick World by Robert Lopez-Adam is there to help David, a sixteen-year-old troubled youth. Deep hidden secrets are revealed, but at what cost to both of them?
Circles by Beth Geiger and music by Robert Eaton-Percy sits and watches the world through her journal. Her world suddenly comes crashing down when she is visited by Tammy, who dreams of being the Hula-Hoop champ. Will Percy survive?

When:
May 12-14 & 19-21, 2000.
Show time: Fri. & Sat., 8 p.m.; Sun., 2:30 p.m.

Where:
Cal State L.A. Music Concert Hall. The University is located at the Eastern Avenue exit, San Bernardino (I-10) Freeway, at the interchange of the 10 and 710 Freeways. Public (permit dispenser) parking is available in Lots C or G, and upper level of northern Parking Structure II.

Tickets:
General admission: $10 and students/senior citizens: $5.
