Cal State L.A. Announces
Appointment of Three
New Development Directors

Los Angeles, California - January 6, 1999 - The Division of Institutional Advancement at California State University, Los Angeles recently announced the appointment of three new development directors.

Catherine Reeves was named director of development for the School of Business and Economics, effective November 23, 1998. Reeves has had 18 years of experience in nonprofit development and administration.

Prior to coming to Cal State L.A., Reeves worked for CAN (Cure Autism Now Foundation) as an executive director. She has also served as senior development officer of Major Gifts for The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and as executive director and member of the board of directors for African Village Outreach. Previous to that, Reeves was a development consultant for Rock of Israel, The Mayflower Institute; assistant director of development for World-Wide Missions; and development director for Concern International.

Reeves is a Tarzana resident.

 


Ron Silverman was named director of development for the School of Health and Human Services, effective December 1, 1998.

Prior to joining the staff at Cal State L.A., Silverman was serving as vice president of Corporate Development and Communications for the Easter Seals of Southern California, based in Los Angeles. He has also served as director of development for the City of Hope and as director of promotions and public relations, as well as production manager for the Hollywood Reporter. Silverman earned his B.A. in Communications from Northeastern University, and is a resident of Beverly Hills.

 


Elizabeth Fields was named director of development for University Projects, effective January 4, 1999.

She was currently the director of development for the School of Business and Public Administration at CSU San Bernardino. Previous to that she was an alumni and development officer at the Viewpoint School, and was in fundraising at Mad About Rising Crime, Inc. and for the Athletics Department at CSU Northridge. Fields was also a marketing coordinator for the student union at the University of Arizona. Fields received her B.A. in Judaic Studies and M.A. in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Arizona.

Fields is a Glendale resident.
