The University-Student Union Cross Cultural Centers Office at California State University, Los Angeles introduces the Cup of Culture Series. All lectures will be held Tuesdays and are free to the public. Readings:
The Oasis: A Reading by Petru Popescu. January 29, 7 p.m., Los Angeles Room.
Author Petru Popescu will read from his powerful new book, The Oasis. Based on the real-life experience of the authorÂs family, the book tells the story of love and survival in a concentration camp during the Holocaust. Sistahs Speak! February 12, 4-8 p.m., Alhambra Room A.
An afternoon and evening of listening and learning with some of Los Angeles most talented Black women writers. The event will include a writing workshop at 4 p.m., a reception at 6 p.m., and a reading at 7 p.m. Brothas Speak! February 19, 4-8 p.m., Los Angeles Room A.
