Cal State L.A.'’s Jason Martini and Mike Miller Named to
All-CCAA Baseball Team

LOS ANGELES -- Cal State L.A. senior right fielder Jason Martini (Fountain Valley, CA/Ocean View) and freshman center fielder Mike Miller (Stevenson Ranch, CA/Hart) have been named All-CCAA for the 2002 season, it was announced tonight by the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) office. Martini earns second team honors while Miller was an honorable mention nod.

Martini is named All-CCAA for the second time in his Golden Eagle career, earning a first-team mention in 2000. He finished the 2002 regular season sixth in the CCAA in slugging percentage (.594), seventh in homers (nine), eighth in total bases (107) and 12th in batting average (.356). He also paced the Golden Eagles this season in both runs scored (37) and RBIs (41).

Miller earns an honorable mention honor after leading the CCAA in stolen bases as a true freshman, swiping 29 bases on 32 attempts. His stolen base rate of 0.59 per game currently ranks 17th in NCAA Division II. Miller ended the regular season third on the team with a .330 batting average, while tying Martini for team-high honors with 37 runs scored. Miller also added 10 outfield assists in his rookie campaign.
