This year’s theme, "Pathways to Progress: Legacy, Learning & Leadership," will bring together voices from across the CSU system to honor the significance of Juneteenth while advancing a shared vision for equity, student success, and leadership for communities across California.
Following the virtual systemwide CSU Juneteenth Symposium morning session, we invite all faculty, staff, and students to join us for the Cal State LA Juneteenth Celebration on Thursday, June 11, as we come together to honor freedom, celebrate Black culture, and build community.
The University will be closed in observance of Independence Day.
This University Convocation will serve as a ceremony to signify the start of the 2026-27 academic year. The event will continue to honor faculty who will receive Outstanding Professor and Lecturer Awards. The event will also recognize the tremendous achievements of staff and students.
