H2RC Hydrogen Vehicle Build Series

A step-by-step instructional series on hydrogen RC vehicle assembly, fuel cell integration, and system operation. Developed as part of the Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) educational initiative at Cal State LA.

Overview

This series provides hands-on instructional modules for building and operating a hydrogen-powered RC vehicle. It covers mechanical assembly, fuel cell integration, system configuration, transmitter control, and hydrogen storage preparation.

The goal is to support STEM education in clean energy systems and provide practical training in hydrogen-based technologies.

Video Series

PT. 1 – CHASSIS ASSEMBLY

Introduction to chassis construction and mechanical framework assembly.

PT. 2 – FUEL CELL ASSEMBLY

Assembly and integration of hydrogen fuel cell components.

PT. 3 – SETUP

Configuration and preparation of vehicle systems after assembly.

PT. 4 – TRANSMITTER (TX)

Setup and operation of remote control transmitter system.

PT. 5 – HYDROSTIK CHARGING

Hydrogen fuel preparation and Hydrostik charging process.

Learning Outcomes

  • Hydrogen fuel cell system fundamentals
  • Mechanical assembly of RC platforms
  • Energy storage and charging systems
  • Wireless control systems (TX/RX)
  • Integration of clean energy technologies
