Los Faustinos is a 21st century retelling of Goethe’s classic that addresses the question of how one family can achieve their American-dream while continuing to serve a community which that Dream seems to be leaving behind. On Earth, the Faustino family works toward their American Dream but struggles with their own shortcomings on the way. Meanwhile, in Heaven above, Mephistopheles strikes a bargain with The Lord, claiming he can win the souls of the Faustino family by leading them down the wrong path. The Lord agrees to the bargain and sends “Mephisto” to Earth – if Mephisto succeeds, the Lord must welcome Mephisto back into heaven. Good and evil struggle for the soul of the Faustino family in this bilingual mix of comedy, music, and intrigue.
