Description

Audre Lorde, acclaimed black lesbian feminist poet and activist, died 25 years ago this month (Nov. 17, 1992). Little is known about her years in Berlin, near the end of her life, where she ignited the Afro-German Movement and encouraged a generation of black German women to assert their identities and rights in a society that attempted to silence and isolate them. A conversation with scholar Chandra Frank will follow the film. Directed by Dagmar Schultz, 2012, 79 minutes.
