Description

On display throughout Spring Quarter, this installation explores the legacy of the radical poet Thomas McGrath. Controversially fired from his teaching position at LASC (now Cal State LA) in 1954 due to his left politics, McGrath nevertheless remained a leader of the Los Angeles poetry scene throughout the 1950s and received considerable critical acclaim. This show brings together archival documents, photographs, and rare editions to commemorate McGrath’s centenary year. Please contact Dr. Andrew Knighton, English Department, at [email protected] for tour and exhibit information.
