The Center for the Study of Genders and Sexualities at Cal State LA is proud to host Andrea Jenkins, Andrew Jolivette, and Amber Starks for a keynote panel on Black, Indigenous and Queer activism. Andrea Jenkins is a poet, activist and the first African American openly trans woman to be elected to public office in the United States. Amber Starks, aka Melanin Mvskoke, is an Afro-Indigenous activist, organizer and cultural critic. Andrew Jolivette is chair of the Ethnic Studies Department at UC San Diego and works in Black, Indigenous and Two-Spirit studies.
