Join Project Rebound at this year's fourth annual Cal State LA Conference for Formerly Incarcerated Populations. The theme for this year is gang intervention. Panels will feature notable grassroots and local government gang intervention practitioners in the Los Angeles area including 2nd Call, Homies Unidos, Communities in Schools and the Southern California Cease Fire Committee, among others, as well as representatives from Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's Gang Reduction and Youth Development Office and the Los Angeles Police Department. There will also be an exclusive documentary on Homeboy Industries that has yet to be released to the public. 

The keynote speaker is David Charles Brotherton, professor of sociology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the City University of New York Graduate Center. Brotherton will be discussing his transformation model of gang intervention and sharing the results of his over 20 years of intervention work with the Latin Kings in New York City, Barcelona, Spain, Genoa, Italy and Quito and Ecuador.
