Description

This eye-opening documentary explores the almost unknown and unspoken history of the significant numbers of Black people in Mexico and Peru. The two countries together received far more enslaved Africans than did the United States — brought to these countries as early as the 16th and 17th centuries. The worlds of culture that their descendants have created continue today. Directed by Henry Louis Gates, 2011, 54 minutes.
