The 2018 Conference on Chicano History, Historiography, and the Historical Novel commemorates the 50th anniversary of the founding of Chicano Studies at Cal State LA. The conference will feature speakers discussing such topics as the Chicano movement, the work of Chicano historian Mario T. García, and revolts of north and south in colonial and modern Mexico. There will also be a screening of the film, “The Rise and Fall of the Brown Buffalo,” followed by a discussion with director and producer Phillip Rodriguez and associate producer Ricardo López. Free to the public.
