The panel discussion, co-hosted by the Chican@ Latin@ University Association, will feature special guests Dr. Félix Gutiérrez and Dr. Mario T. García, who will review the words and works of Rubén Salazar.

Félix Gutiérrez, a Cal State L.A. alumnus, is an emeritus professor of journalism and communication in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and an emeritus professor of American studies and ethnicity in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California. He is author or co-author of five books and more than 50 scholarly articles or book chapters, most on racial or technological diversity in media.

Mario T. García is professor of history and Chicano studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the author of several books including Desert Immigrants: The Mexicans of El Paso, 1880-1920; Mexican Americans: Leadership, Ideology & Identity, 1930-1960; and Ruben Salazar-Border Correspondent: Selected Writings, 1955-1970.
