Veronica Pugin is Vice President of Industry, International, and Business at the LAEDC and WTCLA. In this role, Pugin leads LAEDC’s industry cluster development program, which aims to promote LA’s strategic industries including manufacturing, bioscience, healthcare, aerospace & defense, clean energy, sports & entertainment, and trade & logistics. In this role she promotes and leads programming around business advisory, public-private partnerships, and tool development to support these industries in meeting their capital, workforce, land, digital, and market needs to be attracted, retained, and grow in LA County.
Veronica joined LAEDC after a seasoned background in economic development, government, and business. In government, she previously served at the Small Business Administration’s Office of Capital Access, where she led policy and technology reform to expand capital programs. Additionally, she served at the White House Office of Cyber Director to promote workforce solutions to meet our country’s cyber needs for our critical industries. In business, she led macroeconomic planning at LinkedIn, oversaw the Latin American portfolio for a financial inclusion technology company focused on underserved communities, and consulted clients at Deloitte.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from Stanford. She is a Native Spanish and fluent Portuguese-speaker, and she is a proud Angeleno.
