Kevin Nakano began his career with the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA) in April 2023, as program analyst for the GoGreen Business (GGB) Energy Financing program. Kevin currently manages GGB program design, focusing on research, special projects, rulemaking, implementation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic outreach.
Prior to CAEATFA, Kevin served as a facilities leasing analyst, managing multimillion-dollar lease renewal agreements and related tenant improvement construction projects, special projects, and facility requests for the DMV. Previous to his state career Kevin was a small business owner for many years and worked as an auditor for EY’s Assurance & Advisory Business Services practice where he had the opportunity to work on financial statement audit and review engagements, SEC reporting, quarterly reviews, pension plan audits, debt offerings, and initial public offerings.
Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in Film and Asian American Studies at U.C. Santa Barbara, a second bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accountancy concentration) at Sacramento State, and will complete the Master of Sustainability Management program at the University of Southern California in December 2025.
