Brant Smith is President of Community Capital Alliance (CCA), where he leads efforts to expand access to capital and strengthen California’s small business economy. With more than two decades of experience in public finance and economic development, he has built CCA into a trusted partner for public agencies, civic organizations, community banks, and minority depository institutions across the state.
Under his leadership, CCA advances economic development initiatives, public-private partnership (P3) funding, small business procurement programs, and local impact investment opportunities. Brant and the CCA team have been key partners in the design and preparation of the California Pollution Control Financing Authority’s forthcoming Loan Participation Program (LPP), which will leverage federal State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) funds to expand affordable credit and deliver flexible financing solutions to small businesses—particularly in historically underserved and disadvantaged communities.
Previously, Brant held senior leadership roles at Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA) and Bank of America, where he directed teams and structured more than $17 billion in public financings. A proud California native and graduate of San Diego State University, he enjoys time with family and friends, sharing laughs with his wife, Kelli, and caring for a lively crew of critters and horses. Brant takes every chance he can to go outdoors and go fly fishing.
